As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you will apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems. Precisely specify the functional requirements; design and test components and or systems; integrate components to produce the final design; and evaluate overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. In addition to design and development, may work in testing, production, or maintenance. Assists in planning project goals/methods, preparing patent applications, and presenting technical presentations.
- Pre Sales Technical Support for Account Managers including presentations, andtechnical presentation preparation.
- Providing design drawing, parts list and pricing to account manager for projects identified in region.
- Understanding pluses and shortfalls on the Product offerings to guide responses for Enterprise Prospects and Accounts Proposals.
- Participating in customer meetings to discuss our design, pricing and competitive advantages on account and prospect opportunities.
- Understanding Unified Product offerings well from technical and competitive perspective Cisco in particular.
- Have understanding of how our products are set up, and deployed in network both voice and data products(Cisco).
- Know how to get technical information on secondary product offerings (digital signage, Vocera, F Secure, etc.).
- Understand how secondary product offerings work in proposed networks.
- Develop good working relationship with partners, consultants, customers at technical level.
- Have good relationship with Account Managers.
- Provide coordination between Field Sales personnel and Product Management personnel in support of sales of the Cisco product lines.
- Respond to the technical and/or product related portions of RFPs and other Customer/Consultant Questionnaires.
- Provide product training, demonstrations, and sales presentations in the EBC, at a Customer's site or via WebEx as requested.
Desired Skills & Experience
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical
- Engineering or the equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years experience, or a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering
- Telephony or data network (or both) engineering background and experience.
- Experience in a public speaking role, including training others in a classroom or lecture environment.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite of applications
3+ years with the following NEC solutions:
- SV8500/SV8300/SV8100
- UM8500/UM8700
- OW5000/UCE2010/MA4000 Unified Communications
- Fusion/CCIS networking
- VOIP Applications
- Spherical
Experience with the following desired:
- Cisco Data Center Solutions
- Cisco Routing and Switching Technologies
- Cisco Unified Communications Solutions
- Cisco Wireless Solutions
- Cisco Security Solutions
Certification and/or CCNA/CCNP desired.
