Medicare Claims Coordinator
Job Summary: This position serves as a resource for field personnel in the Denials Management Department (DMD). Serves as the liaison between the Facility team (Administrator, Business Office Director, and/or Health Information Coordinator) and the Medicare Administrative Contractor as well as work with the Medicare Nurse Reviewer to ensure audits/claims are entered in the DMD tracking software accurately and within given time parameters. Responsibilities Assess the Direct Date Entry (DDE) system twice weekly Notifies facility of an audit/claim request, enter the data into our DMD tracking software Serves as a point person for requested information Contact the facility by phone and request documentation/and or missing documentation that is needed in the Atlanta Field Support Office (AFSO) and ensures all data request are complete and received in (AFSO) in established time frames. Organize chart in standard order Pass the medical records off to the nurse to review Copy/scan and mail out to the appropriate requesting entity timely Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer and windows environment software with intermediate level of keyboarding skills. Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office Products - Word and Excel. Must have strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communications. Other various functions
