Assist and counsel hospice patients and families with health related financial, social and emotional concerns according to the physician's orders.
Requirements
Part-Time
1. Has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and
2. Has one year of social work experience in a health care setting or
3. Has a baccalaureate degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, is employed by the hospice before December 2, 2008, and is not required to be supervised by an MSW.
4. Knowledge of psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their caregivers.
5. Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.
State Specific-QUALIFICATIONS
-Alabama State Specific:
Must be licensed by Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Certified Social Worker in accordance with Title 34, Chapter 30, Section 22.
-Alaska State Specific:
Regulation AS 08.95:
(a) A person who practices clinical social work without obtaining a license under this chapter to practice clinical social work is guilty of a class B misdemeanor unless the person is
(1) licensed under a provision of this title that is outside this chapter, is practicing within the scope of that license, and is not representing to the public by title or description of service as being engaged in the practice of clinical social work; or
(2) practicing clinical social work as a student in a social work program approved by the board.
-Arkansas State Specific:
Must be licensed by State of Arkansas, Social Work Licensing Board as a License Master Social Worker or Licensed Certified Master Social Worker in accordance with Social Work Licensing Act.
-Iowa State Specific:
All levels of Master Prepared Social Workers must be licensed even if the social worker is not practicing clinical social work.
154C.2 LICENSE REQUIRED -- EXCEPTION -- USE OF TITLE.
1. A person shall not engage in the practice of social work unless the person is licensed pursuant to this chapter. A person who is not licensed pursuant to this chapter shall not use words or titles which imply or represent that the person is a licensed bachelor social worker, licensed master social worker, or licensed independent social worker.
2. Notwithstanding subsection 1, persons trained as bachelor social workers, or employed as bachelor social workers, are not required to be licensed.
3. Section 147.83 does not apply to persons who are not licensed as bachelor social workers and who do not hold themselves out as licensed bachelor social workers.
-Kansas State Specific:
Must be licensed by Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board as a Licensed Master Social Worker or a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in accordance Kansas statute Chapter 65; Article 63.
-Kentucky State specific:
Must be licensed by Kentucky Board of Social Work. Also has to meet Federal conditions. If LSW, must have been working in Hospice prior to 12/2/08.
-Louisiana State Specific:
1. Master's degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work
Education.
2. Documented clinical experience appropriate to the counseling and casework needs of the
terminally ill.
-Maryland State Specific:
Must be licensed by Maryland State Board of Social Worker Examiners at the level of Certified Social Worker License or a Certified Social Worker Clinical License in accordance with Title 19 Code of Maryland Section 302
-Maine State Specific:
Must be licensed by Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure s at the level of Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Masters Social Worker in accordance with Maine Revised Statutes 7053l; Title 32; Chapter 83.
-Massachusetts State Specific:
Licensed Certified Social Worker, LCSW; Licensed Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board
of Registration of Social Work.
-Michigan State Specific:
Must be licensed by Michigan Board of Social Work Examiners at the level of Licensed Masters Social Worker in accordance with Administrative Rule R338.2901-338.2915.
-Ohio State Specific:
Must be licensed under Chapter 4757 (Also, must meet general qualifications for MSW job at Amedisys).
-Oklahoma State Specific:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Master's Social Worker by the Oklahoma Board of Social Workers.
-South Carolina State Specific:
Must be licensed by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners at the Master (LMSW) or
Independent (LISW) level.
-Tennessee State Specific:
Medical Social Services must be provided by a qualified social worker under the direction of a physician.(Listed in Definitions: TN -1200-8-27-01
(10) Certified Master Social Worker. A person currently certified as such by the Tennessee Board of Social Worker Certification and Licensure.
(35) Licensed Clinical Social Worker. A person currently licensed as such by the Tennessee Board of Social Work.
-Texas State Specific:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or a Licensed Master Social Worker, or Licensed Master Social Worker -- Advanced Practitioner by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.
-Washington State Specific:
Social worker" means an individual regulated under chapter 18.19 or 18.225 RCW. Must be licensed by the secretary of health to practice social work as a Licensed advanced social worker or Licensed independent clinical social worker:
-West Virginia State Specific:
Must be licensed by the WV Board of Social Work Examiners as Licensed Certified Social Worker or a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
-Wyoming State Specific:
Licensed by the Mental Health Professions Licensing Board as Certified Social Worker; or
Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
OTHER State Specifics:
Virginia Hospice Salary Scale is maintained at Amedisys Inc., Human Resources Department.
